What is Music & Play?

Music & Play focuses on Rhythmics, a well-known music-pedagogical method where music is experienced with the whole body and all our senses.

Each lesson is built around a playful theme incorporating music and movement. The music itself is in focus and acts as the purpose and goal of the lesson. Through play, children learn music theory and practice ear training – both their musical ear and social awareness. The goal is for each child to feel involved, seen, and validated.

In Music & Play, we primarily use voice and body, but we also play on drums and simple rhythm instruments. In this way, both gross and fine motor skills are trained. Movement and music bring joy and encourage imagination, which are key building blocks in a child's development and help them realize their creative potential.

Important Information for Parents:

  • ✓ Attending adults participate actively alongside their child during lessons.
  • ✓ Unregistered siblings cannot attend the sessions to maintain group focus.
